Snowmobilers will find over 300 miles of Snowmobile Trails that connect to nearly 200 miles of routes surrounding our local area. Snowmobilers may also travel on all unplowed National Forest roads unless posted closed to off-road vehicles. Local snowmobile clubs are active building and maintaining routes and grooming the trails.
SandHaven Resort is located a short trip across Sand Lake from the Bowstring Snowmobile Trail. It is truly one of the most beautiful trails that Minnesota has to offer snowmobile enthusiasts.
Heading East to Marcell for 35 miles one-way takes about 1-1.5 hrs. Heading West to Squaw Lake for 30 Miles one-way takes about 1 hr. Their are places to eat & fuel up in each town.
For the hardcore sledders an awesome trip from SandHaven to Deer River takes you through Squaw Lake down the Avenue Of Pines & Bushwacker Trails. It is around 60 miles one-way & takes about 2-2.5 hrs. We recommend eating at the Best Gosh Dam Pizza right off the Avenue Of Pines Trail on Hwy 46.
SandHaven may be adding snowmobile rentals in the future... until then, We recommend Rapid Rental in Grand Rapids, MN.
